During my three years as a JET ('93-'96), I was very active in supporting and organizing the JET community. This is the 1995 edition of the Pre-Departure Handbook, the publication of which I oversaw while I was the Iwate AJET Prefectural Representative. The other two AJET officers who worked on this project were Beth Sundberg, Vice Prefectural Representative, and Michelle Bugay, Editor. With everyone's cooperation and Michelle's layout skills, the Handbook looked GOOD! We also owe a great deal of gratitude to the contributors, each of whom gladly welcomed the opportunity to do something to help make things better for incoming JETs.
